May 6th, 2019
Meriden, Connecticut – Meriden Soccer Club (MSC), the boys’ and girls’ youth soccer club with more than 30 years of experience providing the best, the safest and the most rewarding soccer experience for its community, and Capelli Sport, the international sportswear and team wear brand, have announced a partnership between the organizations.
Per the terms of the agreement, Capelli Sport will become the official uniform, training gear and apparel supplier for the MSC travel program athletes, coaches and staff beginning fall 2019.
MSC, founded in 1988, has created a year-long program for more than 350 youth athletes throughout the “Silver City” to train and develop through the sport of soccer. MSC recognizes the long-term commitment to growth within the game, and in-turn, has created two separate divisions for its program: In-Town and Travel Play.
MSC, on the heels of its 30-year anniversary, is dedicated to providing youth athletes 4-to-18 years old with the skills to enjoy soccer today and tomorrow, through an age-appropriate developmental approach, with professional instruction. As player progress within the In-Town program (U6-U10) they continue their soccer experience in the two-tier Travel Program with opportunities to showcase their footwork and technical skills within competition throughout the state of Connecticut.
"After an extensive search we are excited to enter this partnership with Capelli Sport,” Meriden Soccer Club President Joe Scaramuzzo said. “Capelli Sport provides us everything we have been looking for in a partner. Their product range and quality is amazing. However, we were also attracted to their end to end ownership of the fulfillment process. I'm confident that having a single partner that handles design, manufacturing, ordering and distribution will provide the best and most professional consumer experience for our club members."
Capelli Sport was founded in 2011 by President George Altirs, with the mission to provide quality, functionality and design for high-level performance on the field. Altirs’ more than 30 years in the apparel, fashion and accessory business with parent company GMA Accessories led to the creation of Capelli Sport. The brand’s innovative, world-class training gear, equipment and uniforms have yielded many global recreational, youth, club, collegiate, semi-professional and professional sports partnerships.
"We have a great deal of admiration for Meriden Soccer Club and the history of the program," Capelli Sport President George Altirs said. "As the club just celebrated its 30 year anniversary, the opportunity to partner Capelli Sport with a club that has a history as rich as Meriden Soccer Club is one we are very excited about and looking forward to."
In eight years of operation, Capelli Sport has become the partner of, and the official outfitter for, a number of internationally recognized sporting organizations, professional clubs and international teams. Currently, Capelli Sport distributes its world-class training gear and apparel in more than 25 countries worldwide.
